Academe (where a weathered historian shares)12
‘Twas three weeks before spring, when all across the campus, Not a professor was grading, not even a krampus, The fall grades had been registered with care, In the hopes that a respite would soon be there.
The students could enjoy family and friends, While professors meditate other ends, One with a laptop, another with notebooks, They begin planning the next semester’s hooks.
For multiple spring classes need to be prepped, In such a way as to ensure many students will be kept, Encouraged and challenged and intellectually engaged, And most of all, with their minds and thinking uncaged.
Now Calliope!, Euterpe!, and Thalia!, On Melpomene!, On Urania!, On Polyhymnia, Terpsichore, Erato!, And pride of place, Muse of history, On Clio!
You all must help pull creativity from the weary, Who only wish to make interesting theory, Facts, reason, logic, and methodical thought, And all other things that seem impossibly taught.
No magic or twinkly eye breviates this path, Long is the way to create a philomath, From pen and paper to views independent, HAPPY WINTER BREAK TO ALL, AND TO ALL ENLIGHTENMENT!
With Critters, It’s Personal
The weather for the past week, plus a few days, has been perfect for creating an indescribable winter wonderland. First, wet snow fell for a couple days. Second, no strong winds blew to knock it off the trees. And finally the temperature dropped to freeze it all in place. Since it’s indescribable, some photos can help convey snow’s grace.

Spring Semester, not the season. [Isn’t it great that I’m annotating this gem so that future scholars don’t have to?]

Among your multiple talents, you're a poet too! :) Thanks for sharing the entertaining poem.
The snow looks majestic. It certainly looks like a winter wonderland. I can see why the path through the woods is Ande's favorite. It would be mine too. Merry Christmas to you and Ande, and sending you best wishes for much love and joy!
